MacNCheese and IAST

Hello together,

This week the Diva asked us to tangle our "MacNCheese-tangles", tangles that we use very often. One of my favorite patterns is Tipple and for the Diva Challenge #308 I combined it with Knightsbridge, another easy-to-draw and relaxing tangle.

For Adele's It's a String Thing #188 we had a swirly string and some organic patterns to celebrate the beginning of spring.

Thanks for stopping by. I look forward to your comments.

Diva Challenge #306 + #307, IAST and more

Hello together,

this week is a UMT (Use My Tangle) week at the Diva Challenge #306 and Laura asked us to tangle "Amphora" by Lily Moon, a great Zentangle artist.
I started my tile with a "M" string in honor of my grandpa Manfred who died a few weeks ago and then tangled a monotangle of this beautyful pattern.

I also tangled a tile for my grandpa's funeral. I want to give this to my grandma because she couldn't be there because she was in hospital.

Last week Adele gave us a Pi string for IAST #186. I love this challenge because I love Pi. The chosen tangles Wacho, Pokeroot and W2 were the ingredients for a yummy pie tile.

Then I saw the latest Kitchen Table Tangle video today on the mosaic app. It was not a video  of Maria or Rick. This lesson was taught by Indy and Mazzy, Molly's daughters. It is so cute. You can see it here on the Zentangle blog. I found this so great, they both knew absolutely what they want to do and were talking so professionel. I wanted to try this, too. I worked through the lesson how they explained and tangled this: (also for the Diva Challenge #307)

In the post Molly talked about how she learned from her children and asked what we learned from children. I also learn a lot from my two daughters: their perspectives of the world but also new things about myself and I totally agreed with Molly that it is a great pleasure to have children and to work with them. I always enjoy these creative moments with my girls at home. Here you see their latest artworks.

Paintings by my daughter Yuna (3)

Paintings by my daughter Kiara (6)
And they really painted this without help and absolutely knew what they want. My younger daughter for example insisted that this canvas stayed green although I asked her repeatedly if she doesn't want to add something else.
So in the end I was just the assistent who took the paint on a plate.

Last but not least I want to show you my latest sewing project: a violet heart pillow for my youngest daughter Yuna. So now there is one pillow for both of my girls.

Thanks for stopping by. I look forward to your comments.

Waybop

Hello together,

In their latest newsletter and blogpost Rick and Maria introduced the new tangle Waybop. It's a really great tangle and has so many possibilities for variations.
This week Adele choose this pattern for her It's a String Thing #184. And also Laura asked us to use Waybop for her Diva Challenge #304.
These are my tiles for the challenges. The first one was definetely not planned in this way. I wanted to draw some Mooka but it looks not like I imagined. So I decided to draw the whole background black with only some light dots.

Thanks for stopping by. I look forward to your comments.

Hamadox and Amore

Hello together,

this week I took the time to tangle two tiles for the Diva Challenge #302. It's a Use My Tangle Challenge and the tangle of the week is Hamadox by Diana Schruer, CZT. It's a combination of Hamail and Paradox.
On my first tile I tangled the lines of paradox in the wrong direction. That's why I gave it a second try. Here you can see both tiles.

For Adele's It's a String Thing #183 she choose a heart string for Valentin's Day and the patterns Zenith and Caught.
I really enjoyed tangling this.

Thanks for stopping by. I look forward to your comments.

Challenges

Hello together,

this week I found time to join in some challenges.

The first is the Diva Challenge #298. This week was a UMT (Use My Tangle) challenge. The tangle of the week is Orbs-la-Dee by Anneke van Dam. I had the idea of integrating this pattern in my own "Candy Waves". Here is the result :

The second challenge is It's a String Thing #179. This week Adele gave us a very loopy string and the tangles Betweed, Dust Bunny and Curl.

Last but not least the inchie for Every Inchie Monday. This week's theme is "hamster".

I also had the time to finish a new sewing project - a mosaic heart pillow with a little pocket - for my daughter.

Thanks for stopping by. I look forward to your comments.

It's a String Thing

Hello together,

My first post in 2017, so HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of you.

Here are my tiles for IAST #175. I tangled two tiles because I had so much fun with that new tangle Drawings by Rick and Maria.

And here my contribution to IAST #178. This week Adele asked us to draw "MySwing" by Simone Menzel. You must know Simone lives only 30 km away from me so I have a special connection to her although I didn't met her personal yet. But I really want to.
And I absolutely wanted to do this challenge. This was my first try of MySwing and I enjoyed it. I think I will use it more often.

Thanks for stopping by. I look forward to your comments.

Diva Challenge & my Christmas tree tiles

Hello together,

After reading the newsletter from Rick and Maria where they introduced their new 3Z Tiles, my first reaction was "I need these tiles!" and my order was placed. Then I thought "What could come next? A Hexagon tile or oval tiles?" And then I head that special idea of Christmas tree tiles. It's Christmas time at all!
I took an Apprentice tile and started to construct my "tree". I cut 4 Christmas tree tiles out of one Apprentice tile. The angle at the top of the tree is 30 degree and the length of a side is 10 cm (approx. 4").

The next step was to cut out the tiles, to round the corners and the Christmas tree tiles were finished.

The first four tiles were grabbed by my daughter. She made wonderful Christmas tree decoration of it.

I used one for the Diva Challenge #296. This week is a Use My Tangle Challenge and the tangle is Moowa by Anya Ipsen , CZT.

Here are some more of my Christmas tree tiles.

And there are so many possibilities what to do with these little tiles. It can be a Christmas tree ornament or a gift tag. You can use it to create Greeting cards or make some mosaics...

I hope you like this little idea and one more thing:

PLEASE TRY THIS AT HOME! ;-)

Thanks for stopping by. I look forward to your comments.
